Mike grew up in Montgomery, AL where he started playing Steel Guitar in his Dad’s band at age 15. At age 19, he moved to Nashville, TN to work with Mel Street. When Mel died, Mike went to work with Jack Greene & Jeannie Seely. He then took a job with Bill Anderson and was affiliated with Bill’s organization for over 15 years.
Mike can bring the same level of virtuoso playing to your recording that he has brought to major label records by Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Josh Turner, Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson, and others. Utilizing state-of-the-art recording gear, Mike will enhance your songs by playing the same kind of steel parts on YOUR songs that he plays on current radio records.
Mike Johnson is the is the Steel Guitarist & Music Director for the RFD TV show Country’s Family Reunion, where country music history comes alive on the "living room stage." Guests relive those stories that will make you laugh or cry and sit back with the classics that will assuredly conjure up fond memories from the past.
